TOURING (AND DRINKING) RUM :)

Rum Cay supposedly got it's name from a rum-laden sailing ship that shipwrecked just off of it's shore. We got acquainted with Fellow, a local, early at Rum and made arrangements for him to take us "up town" for a tour of Rum...population 75! Dave and Leann had a bird's eye view from the back of Fellow's pickup truck :)

After a drive thru tour of Port Nelson, which took as long as a drive thru tour of Pontiac, our last stop was Kaye's Place, operated by Miss Delores Wilson...quite the character....

Where else can you go into a bar and see the Ten Commandments????

Miss Delores wrote a book..."Rum Cay, My Home." It is now a fixture in Feeding Frenzy III's library :) Miss Delores has a guestbook on her bar. She told us of some of her famous patrons. Miss Delores showed us where Jackie Onasis signed her book back in 1986....

Leann was the only brave soul! Do we have Lomotil on FF III????

We said "goodbye" to Miss Delores and Fellow delivered us safe and sound to the FF III where we continued on with our "last night in town syndrome." "Looperman, this ones on you!" Dr. Dave declared :) :)

Wednesday we headed out early for our 60 mile run to Emerald Bay at Georgetown. Beautiful marina and facility AND INTERNET!!!! Caldwell and Kate arrived within minutes of us getting tied up to the dock. We celebrated Leann's birthday one day early and Caldwell and Kate's first night in town in style! We said "goodbye" to Dr. Dave and Leann :( It is now Thursday morning and since I have good internet I am catching up on my writing. We are departing in about an hour for Farmer's Cay deep in the Bermuda Triangle so the adventure continues. Stay tuned! Catch you on the flip flop....
