MARIO ANDRETTI AND DINGLE

Early on Tuesday morning we loaded up and headed to Dingle with Mario Andretti once again at the wheel 🙊. It was a 2 1/2 hour drive to Dingle and I sure was dreading that drive over the river and through the woods (and mountains).   It was, however,  one of the most scenic drives I have taken in my entire life!!!!

They don’t call it the “Emerald Isle” for nothing ☘️. After 2 1/2 hours of hair pin curves, driving on the left, and scads of those pesky roundabouts we FINALLY made it to Dingle.  There was something oddly familiar about Dingle....IT WAS THE BRANSON OF IRELAND!!!!  Back to back traffic and literally NO place to park.  We honestly drove around for an hour looking for a parking place...

We were tempted to park here but weren’t really sure what “clamped” meant but we all agreed that it sounded like some sort of medieval torture that none of us wanted to risk.  And...since none of us had cell service we were pretty sure there was NO way we wanted to figure out how to call someone or something to be “de-clamped!”

After an hour of driving around we FINALLY parked the car on a side street and off we went.  First stop was a tour of the local brewery....Dick Mack’s....surprise surprise!!!!

Pop and Dick Mack’s owner/brewer...Finn!

Pop giving Tom a quick lesson on brewing before the tour...

And finally...THE TOUR!!!!

After spending some time in Dingle we decided it was time to head back over the river and through the woods (and mountains).  We walked and walked and walked some more and finally found the car.  We were thankful our car had not been “clamped” so we quickly jumped in and headed back  to Bunratty.  It “took a village” to get back to Bunratty...Mario, the navigator (a/k/a Pop), and the two “nagagators” in the back seat (Carol and I have NO idea who the boys were referring to)!  ðŸ˜¬

Catch you on the flip flop...
