We ended up at Cape Eleuthera, a beautiful resort on the south western side of the island. It is situated so that you could enjoy the sunrise on one side and sunset on the other...

We stayed at Cape Eleuthera a total of 4 nights. Two days we fished, one day we caught up on blogging and chores, and one day we rented a car and toured the island. On the touring day after about 5 minutes of me screaming was all CTM could take so he put me behind the wheel! Yikes! We stopped at Four Points in Rock Sound for some cracked conch.

CTM insisted we drive another 30 miles to Mate and Jenny's for some conch pizza. There are articles in all of our cruising guides that insist it is a "not to be missed" place. So....off we went on the left side of the road for ANOTHER 30 miles! Guess what.....they were CLOSED on Tuesday and IT WAS TUESDAY! By this time we were 60 miles from home :( It was a LONG drive back on the left side of the road :)
The fishing was so so off Cape Eleuthera. We did catch a few small YF tuna and enjoyed sushi a couple of times. Jeannie, not to worry, you are still in 1st place in the YF tuna category!!!

We checked out of Cape Eleuthera on Wednesday and planned to head back to Exuma to Compass Cay Marina. We had called and they were "pretty sure" they could accommodate us so we opted to head on out and fish our way there. At around 2:00 they finally said, "Sorry, but we are full!" OMG! We were homeless!!!! We called Davis Harbour, another marina on Eleuthera, and they said, "COME ON DOWN!" Phew..... Cool little place in the middle of nowhere but the "bogs," as our good friend Freddy Rolle calls them, are BAD! In order to get the internet we have to soak down with bug spray and sit up top! We had one of the best days of fishing EVER on FF III yesterday (Thursday) but will let CTM elaborate on that once we arrive in Nassau. We are about 65 miles from Nassau and plan to make the run today so we can spend tomorrow doing stinky fishy smelling laundry :) and do a little provisioning in preparation for Caldwell and Kates's arrival:) tomorrow evening. Catch you on the flip flop....

If I had seen this before taking Caldwell and Kate to the airport I would have locked them in the trunk and hopped on the plane! You guys are the coolest! Have a great time! Babs
