HERE WE GO......
At the encouragement of family and friends we have decided to create this blog so you can keep up with our adventures (if you choose) on Feeding Frenzy III. We have been working for a couple of months getting a captain's license (still pending), shopping, packing, and readying FFIII for our great adventure of cruising the Bahamas for 4 - 6 weeks. Today is April 30th and FFIII has been serviced, loaded with 30 cases of beer, 6 cases of water (in case we need to wash our feet), bikes, extra rations, bait, fishing equipment and much much more. It is sitting probably 12 inches lower in the water than normal! The only thing we have left to do is clean and load the life raft (VERY important) and do a test run on the EPIRB (also VERY important) prior to our departure. Now....here's the bad part.... The wind has been blowing 20-25 knots all week. We have been planning on leaving May 1st all along. It looks like the wind will start to wane sometime later today but as it stands right now our first window of opportunity looks like will be Saturday, May 2nd :( This will be our 6th crossing of the Gulfstream and every crossing (until now) has been on time AND dead calm! And....as we speak.....our first cruising victims (The Stinsons) will be arriving in 2 - 3 hours. They will be with us for the crossing, 3 days in Bimini, and 3 days at the West End of Grand Bahama. Got some last minute shopping and packing to do, and picking up the Stinsons so more later.........
